Micawber Capital is named after Wilkins Micawber, a character from Charles Dickens’ novel David Copperfield.
He is famous for his boundless optimism and we were drawn to the name because of the “Micawber Principle” which is stated in Chapter 12 of the book as:
Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery.
Also, Keith Richards named one of his guitars Micawber. So, there’s that.
